Where Do You Get Affirmations?
That is a question no one will ever ask you. However, it’s a question that you should ask yourself from time to time. I am not a doctor and didn’t even intend more than a few years of community college, but I’ve been around the block and I’ll shoot it you straight.
Don’t worry, I won’t tell you to start your day by writing down 5 positive affirmations about yourself. I’m not downplaying that practice or anything else that gets people jazzed up to live their best life. It’s just not my thing, even in it sounds like a good idea.
I’m a big fan of positive affirmations, mainly due to the strenght my inner critic had over most of my life. The self-criticisms weren’t the only negative feedback that I absorbed throughout my life. In reality, most of hear a lot of negative things or have negative interactions with people; family members and friends included.
Therefore, it is important for us to be aware of the difference between positive and negative affirmations.
Affirmations is definitely one of my favorite of the 5 love languages. However, it took many years to understand that and to recognize how it could be used against me.
People tend to learn how people think and what gets them to react favorably or unfavorably over times.
Self-study develops wisdom
Wisdom is something that we should talk more about in society for many reasons. True self-study is must for anyone looking to develop their wisdom or leadership skills.
You want to learn from others, but living life with an open mind and some curiousity will do you wonders. Learning from different people and being open to different perspectives will often give you insights beyond expectations.
Don’t be afraid to fail. Be afraid of not trying your best due to your fear holding you back.
You only live once and you don’t know when your ride will end, so live every day with purpose and passion. Banish your haters from your heart and mind and focus on living with positive thoughts and actions. Silence your inner-critic and focus on developing a growth mindset.
Everyone you know is dealing with criticism from someone. People that learn how to live passionately, no matter what, are the ones that often change the world.
