Will Mortgage Rates Go Up in 2022?
It was announced in January that the Bank of Canada would forecast mortgage interest rates for 2022 based on an increase in government bond rates from 0.3% to 1.3%. These changes will definitely affect mortgage rates in the future. Additionally, it was predicted that short-term interest rates might begin to rise in mid-2022.
