I was able to visit the sacred sites that made up the stories from my childhood. So many emotions were brought to the surface. Walking through Nazareth, visiting the birthplace of Mary, walking into the Sea of Galilee….took my breath away. I really wanted to get baptized in the spot where John the Baptist baptized Jesus but something felt too commercialized so in Meredith style I stripped down to my underwear, climbed through the reeds, and dipped into the Jordan river 7 times. It was surreal! Israel you are beautiful and have stolen my heart!
