  • Greetings All,
I have awesome news that I want to share with everyone. After much consideration, I am reviving David R. Smith Consulting Services. Over the last several months, reliable sources have informed me that there is a large need in the Dallas area for excellent Accountants and Bookkeepers. Businesses are looking to outsource this service but are having trouble finding reliable and competent resources. With over 30 years in the industry I have the experience and knowledge necessary to help these businesses. Being a QuickBooks expert is a bonus since 90% of most small businesses use QuickBooks. If you are aware of anyone in the Dallas area who could use my services, send them my way! Here is a link to my website http://www.drsconsultingservices.com . They can contact me via email or call me. Thank you for your help and support!!
    David Smith

I want to back up @mandyjahlas post!! She doesn’t need me too, but I wanted help. If you don’t know it, @mikeoconnor is the owner and master of this SPN universe. He does so much for us that it is nearly impossible to put it all into words. Please take a moment to just thank him for all he has done! Thanks Craig! I thought it did as well. I am trying to make a habit of checking out the member of the Day here on SPN. If Mike is going to spot light them, there has to be a reason why. Inquiring minds want to know! LOL If your old enough to remember that saying, your my kind of people! LOL Thanks though, I am glad you got something out of it as well!

  • I found this article today written by our member of the day @andyvargo. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/how-linkedin-has-me-roped-andy-vargo/?trk=mp-author-card – Not only is this relevant for LinkeIn, it is most relevant for this site – SPN. We want this site to get off on the right footing and this article will definitely help. @craigwasilchak you might consider adding this to your \”How to Article\” I think you are writing for SPN.

    • David, thanks for pointing this article out. It really is a good read and hits so many points. I agree with all of them.

      • Thanks Craig! I thought it did as well. I am trying to make a habit of checking out the member of the Day here on SPN. If Mike is going to spot light them, there has to be a reason why. “The Universe is Change. Life is Opinion.” Marcus Aurelius, Meditations, 4.3.4b

Our understanding of what something is, is just a snapshot-an ephemeral opinion. The universe is in o constant state of change. Our nails grow and are cut and keep growing. New skin replaces dead skin. Old memories are replaced by new memories. Are we still the same people? Are the people around us the same? Nothing is exempt from this fluidity, not even the things we hold most sacred. “The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday.”

This quote says that everything is changing, we must accept that everything changes and that our opinion of Life is just that. Our opinion is based on the facts at hand or want we have been taught. But, if everything is changing in the Universe shouldn’t our opinions change with it? What do you think??

Just take it one day at a time. This platform is actually pretty easy to use. Just post what is going on in your life or career. What can we do for you? What can you do for us? It’s all about Win-Win relationships.

  • Hi everyone! I have the first 💥Challenge for our Network.💥 I am still searching for a position. On Monday, I found out that the job I thought was a shoe-in was given to another candidate. I had to find out through the grapevine. But, that’s okay because that means there is a better fit out there.

I live in the Dallas/Ft Worth area – specifically Plano and I am looking for a company that is small to medium size. The position is usually a “Controller or Accounting Manager” type reporting to the Owner or Managing partner.

I have 30 years of experience and 10 -15 of them as a Controller or Accounting Manager. Since the age of 18 I have worked side by side with CPA’s. This is important, because I was not able to finish my degree in accounting. I have around 130 college credit hours but they span over 20 years. I have experience and a lot of education along with practical knowledge and application. There are owners out there, that do put the experience high up on the priority list and those are the owners that I am trying to find.

✨ Challenge✨- do you think you know anyone who could guide me to the right company or the right owner? Also, my profile here and on LinkedIn reflect my resume and skill set. ❓If you have any questions❓, don’t hesitate to ask. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP. 💯💯💯

    • Hi Ivonne, sorry I am so late getting back to this. My week has been a whirlwind. I really appreciate the connection request and will do so on LinkedIn. If there is anything I can do for you, please let me know. Thanks, David

  • Hi all, I am still on the job search. I am looking for a Controller position in the North Dallas area working with a small to medium sized company. To make things even more challenging, I have been a Controller or Accounting Manager for companies for the last 10 – 15 years but I was never able to complete my degree. Since the age of 18, I have worked side by side with CPA’s and soaked up everything they had to teach me. The thing is, I know my limits and don’t try to pretend to know things I don’t. I have around 130 college credit hours over a period of 20 years so I do have an education just not completed. There are owners out there who would like the experience I have and not have to pay the amount they would someone with a CPA or Masters. Most generally, they will have an outside CPA that the Controller would work with anyway. That is the setup that I work with or within the best! So, the challenge is to see who can find a company that would be willing to give me a chance! They won’t be disappointed. Please feel free to ask me any question you would like! Thank you!!!

    • David, keep expressing what is going on. The time of search is a time of rooting. Gathering new resources.
I know a company will be happy to have you with your experience! Keep faith!

  • Hit me up and let me know what I can do for you!!
