A recent report by the Continuing Legal Education Association of Australia (CLEA) outlines the benefits of incorporating it into the law school curriculum. However, this new approach is undoubtedly beneficial for students and the profession. It will encourage law schools to consider CPD as a mandatory part of the legal profession. It will instill the need for empathy toward vulnerable people and make CPE more effective.

CLE lawyer courses should be mandatory for members of the bar and bench. All lawyers should complete a certain number of CPD points annually to maintain their practice certificates. These units may be obtained by attending accredited law conferences, reading articles, participating in research materials, or performing other activities recognized by the Bar Council.
