How do I join and post to local community groups?
You must live or have a business in the local community, if you want to join their chamber of commerce groups. Group admins must be able to verify your address through your profile or SPN business listings .
Engage within community groups by posting educational content, sharing advice, providing updates, and sharing real-life business experiences is essential for leveraging SPN’s networking-focused strategy for relationship building.
**It is important to note that these communities are not platforms for advertising your business outright. You can use your profile, the public activity feed , or more relevant groups for direct advertising.
Communities are moderated by Admins and group moderators. Members can also report inappropriate, spammy, or off topic content. We do suspend accounts for violating SPN Rules . Follow the rules below and you should benefit a lot from participating in business networking here.
Remember these tips before posting in SPN business networking groups:
- Write in your genuine and professional voice.
- Write original and relevant content for the community you are posting in.
- Create posts in a conversational format meant to get others to start a conversation.
- Go and engage with comments on your posts! Posting and ignoring others is not helpful for anyone. You should also be commenting on other peoples’ posts to build your network and visibility.
- It is OK to share SPN links like your business listing, published SPN blogs , or any link relevant to the group.
- Breaking the rules may get your account suspended.
Remember to avoid the following in our business networking groups:
- Posting your contact information (i.e. phone number, address, email, etc. You can post your SPN business listing link)
- Post non-SPN links intended to lead members off of SPN for sales purposes. Use more relevant groups, the public feed, or your profile for that. Abusing this rule can lead to account suspension.
- Post promotional content (ads, specials, deals, etc. – those live in your profile, your business listing, the public activity feed, and relevant groups.)
Please Note: Posting content that violates SPN’s guidelines including but not limited to profanity, hate speech, vulgarity, and the like will be moderated and hidden from the feed and may result in removal from the group or from the platform. SPN’s terms and conditions apply.
